Great intro to biblical theology. Good to work through with newborn Christians, or even 'searching' non-Christians.
Biblical Theology

Best biblical theology book there is. Hands down. Don't be put off by how small the book is. It is crammed & is the easiest, most concise, most readable, most understandable, most memorable book I have read. Should be read by every Christian once a year.
-
More in depth than Roberts' book. A good follow up to God's Big Picture.

A beast. But a reference beast that should also be in every home. If more preachers actually understood the progressive unfolding of the Bible, they would actually understand what it means to preach Christ crucified from every text of the Bible (without resorting to allegory or prooftexting). If you can afford it, buy. You will not be disappointed!

Love T.J. Alexander. Great OT scholar. Very, very good intro to Biblical Theology. Up there with Roberts.

I have almost every book in this series. This is my favorite. Quite academic, but worth the effort. Gives a great overview of composition & direction of the OT. Focuses on the unfolding promise given to Abraham (seed/dominion & land/dynasty) as it begins to center on David. Loved it immensely!

Best biblical theology book on the New Testament, hands down. Deals with each book canonically, and fits it into the rest of Biblical witness. Can't recommend this work strongly enough. I love anything written by Thielman, who is in my opinion a first rate NT scholar.
-
It's a toss-up between Schreiner and Carson as my favorite NT scholar. I love anything Schreiner writes. Dude is solid. You simply can't go wrong with him. Highly recommended as well. Does more of a thematic biblical theology (superbly IMHO), though this is very different than a systematic theology approach.
-
Schreineristic. Must have for any 'scholar'. Pauline theology at its best.

Waltke is perhaps my favorite OT scholar (though I love Longman III as well). This is his magnum opus. The OT scholar par excellence in the view of many evangelicals. Not for the faint of heart.
